ISTHMUS contains extensive features for the management and planning of inventory levels combined with a purchasing module. This can be used to generate purchase orders to external suppliers or to replenish the distribution centre from a production facility or other source. The system recalculates daily the average daily usage and coverage of the stock based on the past history for a client defined interval. This combined with safety levels defined for movement codes associated with each product and the supplier lead time can be used to generate a dynamic reorder level. Reorder level reporting and purchase order generation can be based on this dynamic reorder level, a fixed client defined reorder level or on a minimum, maximum and optimum number of days coverage. In addition the system generates Purchasing Action Reports highlighting products where orders are overdue or where increased demand for the product means that an outstanding order needs to be expedited.

As with other features of ISTHMUS this information can be included in reports, automatically generated facsimiles, e-mails or into an electronic exchange of information with other computer systems.

ISTHMUS also has Vendor Appraisal Reporting, and reports highlighting slow moving products, stock turns, stock levels and cover, dangerous stock levels etc.
